Keiron Anderson

Keiron Anderson

KEIRON ANDERSON is musical director and conductor of the Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra, considered to be one of the premier regional wind ensembles in the United Kingdom.  He is also the conductor of the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra and Phoenix Concert Band, both of which bring a lively and varied repertoire to both new and seasoned concert-goers, while also being known for performing many of Anderson’s own dynamic and audience-friendly musical compositions.

Additionally, Anderson has worked with the Harlequin Brass and Leeds Conservatoire Wind Orchestra, and has been the guest conductor for the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain at the Edinburgh Festival.  He has also worked extensively as a freelance performer—trumpet and keyboard—with performance opportunities that have included the Scottish Ballet Orchestra, London Festival Ballet, Welsh National Opera, Scottish National Orchestra and the BBC Northern Radio Orchestra.  Anderson also spent a number of years performing on cruise ships with his own Keiron Anderson Orchestra, and has devoted significant time performing with memorable singers, comedians and variety show legends such as Frankie Vaughan, Cannon and Ball, Ronnie Corbett, Bob Monkhouse, Little and Large and many others.

Drawing upon many years of experience and his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, Keiron has developed a noteworthy reputation as a prolific composer, producing many unique and exciting compositions that reflect an eclectic mix of styles.  Some of these works were written specifically for the ensembles that he directs, while others have been composed as commissions for other ensembles.  Notably, Keiron’s focus has been to not only entertain the audience, but to educate with music of the highest quality, and to use many of the ensemble’s performances to raise funds for local charities.
